The United States and Israel carried out a coordinated series of strikes on February 28 targeting multiple sites in Iran, including locations in Tehran. In response, Iran launched retaliatory strikes against Israeli territory and US military bases across the Middle East.
The operation against Iran took place despite ongoing Oman-mediated talks between the US and Iran in Geneva aimed at addressing the Iranian nuclear issue.
Iranian authorities reported that Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in the strikes. Following the attacks, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced the launch of True Promise 4, describing it as the most extensive and forceful offensive operation in the country’s history, targeting Israel and US military bases in the region.

Ankara is ready to repel any attack on the republic and to hold the necessary consultations with NATO after the fall of a rocket in the territory of the country, the head of communications in the presidential office, Burhanettin Duran, said on Wednesday.
"The missile launched from Iran, which flew through the airspace of Iraq and Syria and was heading into our country's airspace from the Hatay region, was destroyed by NATO air defense systems," Duran said in a statement.

Iranian authorities have decided to postpone the farewell ceremony for deceased Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, Mohsen Mahmoudi, head of Tehran's Islamic Propaganda Coordination Council, said on Wednesday.
"This event is being postponed. I hope that at the earliest opportunity, as soon as conditions permit, the Coordination Council will make a corresponding statement calling for farewells" Mahmoudi told Iranian television.
The postponement is due to the need to prepare the "infrastructure" for the ceremony due to "enormous demand" from across the country to participate in the event, he added.

Debris hitting the largest oil refinery in the city of city of Ras Tanura in eastern Saudi Arabia did not affect the supply of petroleum products, a source in the Saudi Energy Ministry said on Wednesday.

Hezbollah Attacks 3 Major Israeli Military Facilities - Statements
Lebanese movement Hezbollah said on Wednesday that it has attacked two military command posts and a production facility in Israel with missiles and drones.
"In response to the criminal Israeli aggression that has affected dozens of Lebanese cities and settlements, including the southern suburbs of Beirut, Islamic Resistance fighters attacked the headquarters of the Israeli aircraft manufacturing company (IAI) [Israel Aerospace Industries] in central occupied Palestine using a group of attack drones," Hezbollah said in one of the statements.
The next two statements said that the strikes also included precision-guided missiles hitting the Giv'a base, which controls drones east of the city of Safed, and the headquarters of the Israel Defense Forces' Northern Command, the Dado base.
